ANCHOR POCKET PLATE REPAIR
Anchor pocket accidents can be costly. Fortunately, if you deal with them quickly you can avoid further damage to your vessel. At Engineered Yacht Solutions we have a systemic way of repairing anchor pockets. Although each case is slightly different and may require more extensive work, we typically conduct our repairs in the following manner.

REMOVING CURRENT ANCHOR POCKET
First, we start out by completely removing the current anchor pocket plates from the vessel. The idea is to remove them and then replace the newly fabricated plates in their place. After the anchor plates are removed, all of the mounting holes will be filled with a high density filler. A new hole pattern will be used for the new plates. New holes will be drilled into the anchor plates, then countersunk. New holes will be drilled and tapped in the boat’s hull.
CHAIN PIPE EXTENSION
If needed, the chain pipe may have to be extended on both port and starboard sides. Each side is made from two separate plates that are welded together at the radius in the Chine. This will allow for both the anchor pocket plate and the exterior fashion plate to be welded to the chain pipe.
POLISHING ALL NEW HARDWARE
The upper and lower stop/chain guide on each side will be repaired, sanded and polished as required prior to the installation. All new hardware is used and the new plates, fasteners and their heads will be brought to a mirror finish for a truly professional looking job.
INSTALLATION OF NEW ANCHOR POCKET PLATES
We will through bolt the anchor pocket plates using the same six holes as was previously used.
